It was the year of the designer baby as a number of stars chose to expand or start their families in 2012.
What's more exciting in the world of gossip mags than famous baby? The name reveal of course. And, as always, there have been some stunners.
Here is our list of the top celebrities of 2012, famous for simply being born.
Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer
This first entry is questionable. Do they even have babies? Who would know, barely anyone has seen them. The New Zealand star and her vampire husband gave birth to twins in August, but have not announced the names or sexes of her babies. They are believed to be a boy and a girl.
Beyonce and Jay-Z
They are hip-hop royalty and that may go some way in explaining the weird acceptance people seemed to have that they named their child Blue Ivy. The pair seem to get away with a lot, and we suspect young Blue will as well once she's old enough to introduce herself.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
This baby should be the size of a house, and that is absolutely in no way meant to be a comment on Jessica's current Weight Watcher's deal. But it seemed like the baby spent an age stuck in gestational limbo - forever developing, never arriving. Now it's here and it would appear Simpson loved being pregnant so much she is already pregnant again.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
Megan Fox said she thought she was giving birth to a baby Vampire. I don't know that anyone would have been surprised if that actually happened. Given the notoriously difficult star's career has suffered a slump, it seemed like the perfect time for the pair to begin their family.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jionni LaValle
Many have felt this baby was doomed from the start. In September, Jersey Shore star Snooki and her fiance Jionni LaValle gave birth to Lorenzo Lavelle. Since then she has been happily tweeting pictures of her little bundle, who admittedly is completely adorable. Where her twitter feed was once littered with pictures of alcohol and leopard print, it's now a stream of chubby cheeks and booties.
Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Five months ago the eldest Kardashian gave birth to her second child Penelope Scotland Disick. Blessedly, Kourtney has shied away from inventing a new K name, and Penelope is really quite sweet. Scotland indeed raised a few eyebrows, but really, while it's unusual it's not all that wacky.
Giuliana and Bill Rancic
Their struggle to conceive was well documented on their E! reality show Giuliana and Bill. When they finally found they were pregnant it was a relief. The pair welcomed Edward Duke Rancic into the world on August 30. E! have had continual picture exclusives of the little guy, whose mother is the host of E! News and he just seems to be getting cuter by the day.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler
The on again/off again engaged couple announced their pregnancy late last year. On August 8, The Hills alum and her Chicago Bears quarterback fiancée welcomed Camden Jack Cutler into the world. He's cute as a button but apparently raised by single mum, as "Jay is never around", Kristin bleated to one magazine.
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy
The news was announced this month, although what date the little Dancy was born is unknown. The acting pair have been closely guarded about the little one, and have not announced the name or weight, or even the exact date. But the Homeland star and her little boy are said to be doing very well.
Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopleman
Little Olive was born on September 26, and many questions were asked about the choice of name. But the 30-year-old star explained the choice to Ellen Degeneres saying, "I never would have guessed that would have been the name, but I was reading a book with my husband. I was three months pregnant and they said your baby is the size of an olive, and that was it. We never looked back." So there you have it.
